Surprised Dinner made by Hubby
This morning as I was getting out of the car to go into work I said to my Hubby, "Look through one of Rachael Ray's cookbook and come up with something for dinner." He looked at me with great anxiety. perplexed.
When I got into the car after work I asked, "What's for dinner Darling?" He replied, "I've taken all day to get my 30 minute meal ready. And when we get home, you are not allowed in the kitchen until dinner is served."
Hmmmmmmm... all day to prep a 30 minute meal?
So... 45 minutes after we got home, the 30 minute meal was ready.
And this is what he served.
This is his version of Pretzel- Crusted Chicken Breasts with a Cheddar-Mustard Sauce.... found on page 267 of Rachael's "365: No Repeats" cookbook.
He also served fried potatoes with this chicken.
I must say the chicken was tender, the crust had excellent crunch and taste, and I really enjoyed the cheddar-mustard sauce.
I was proud of my husband... although he was very sweaty... and seemed very nervous.
After dinner I went out to see the kitchen area... and this is what I found on the counter.
Now... I will say that my rule in the kitchen is: The Chef never has to clean the kitchen... only prepare the food. However.... after looking at the kitchen... I made an exception to that rule. The new rule is: When Chef Angie is in the kitchen cooking, she never has to clean up her mess.
