Paper Clips (2004) - Film Trailer

I watched a documentary today at Netflix called Paper Clips. Whitwell Middle School in rural Tennessee is the setting for this documentary about an extraordinary experiment in Holocaust education. Struggling to grasp the concept of 6 million Holocaust victims, the students decide to collect 6 million paper clips to better understand the enormity of the calamity. The film details how the students met Holocaust survivors from around the world and how the experience transformed them and their community.

I recommend this outstanding and moving documentary. It may only be 83 minutes long, but the message it brings will last a lifetime.

In 2005 while visiting a sister in Jasper Tn, 10 miles from Whitwell, we visited the Holocaust exhibit. It is set in a box car that was once used for transporting the jews from one awful place to another. The entire thing was amazing. There were also letters from celebrities. I have several photos that I took at the time.
