Alex's First Day of School

Today my little cupcake begins his sophomore year. Next Wednesday he turns 16. He has grown up fast.

Photobucket

He has received 4 textbooks in 3 classes. Tonight his bookbag weighed 18 pounds. He still has books from 4 more classes that he has not received. He said he might need a bigger bookbag.

He is taking sign language as his "foreign" language. He said the teacher doesn't speak... everyone has to sign. That class should be interesting. He is excited about it.

I think I need to take a nap. Living without caffiene is making me too tired.

He is looking good. I assume the photo was taken this morning. 18 pounds of books and several more to go might give him a hernia.

You look good, Alex. Glad you are taking sign language. It will help you in life or help others. Nice to see young people taking this course.

Wow, he is growing up so fast. Seems like just a few months ago, he was just a little thing running around the house.

He'll need a book bag on wheels to save his back. I read where they are finding since kids are using book bags, they are having back problems a lot younger.
Good luck Alex with your sign language class, sounds interesting.

At least he looks somewhat awake, probably not too happy to be returning to school. I can't believe he's going to be 16 next week!

18 pounds and not done yet? Hopefully he can leave the textbooks at school most of the time and do the homework there in like a study hall or something!

This year he doesn't have any study halls. He does get to school an hour early... so he could do some homework before school starts.

Sign Language..that is so cool. I wish they had given us that option in HS. Billy and I have both learned a little ASL...it has helped tremendously. It's mostly food words, but that's okay. :)
