My Laptop is Dying

My computer received updates on Sunday night and then was powered off.  Tonight it seems to be in a windows start-up recovery loop.  No matter what option I select, it just pretends it's doing something and then 10 minutes later returns me to the original screen.

So I went to dell.com and bought a new one.  I hope it arrives soon. Meanwhile I asked a former employee from our computer area to see if he could at least get the photos off my old laptop.  Yes, I never backed up the PC, so my photos  (3 years worth) are gone.
