March 23, 1987

My husband and I met at work. We both worked for Bank One. I worked in Word Processing and he worked in Purchasing. I worked on Purchasing's database. Gary came to pick up the printouts. He always like to critique my work. That really pissed me off.

A friendship did begin to develop. We began to go to lunch once a week. Then it was twice a week and then it was every day Monday through Friday.

I had to go to a follow-up appointment with my back surgeon. Gary asked if he could take me. So he did. Then he took me to lunch afterwards. It was a nice lunch. When he dropped me home, he asked if he could take me out to dinner and a movie that Friday night. Of course I said yes.

So we celebrate March 23rd as our "Valentine's Day". This year Gary had to work that night which meant we couldn't go out for dinner. So instead he make me dinner on the 22nd. He made me his version of Cracker Barrel's Chicken and Dumplings. They were delicious as always.

So we dated for two years and then Gary proposed. And six months later we were married. And the rest is history.

25 years together and 23 years married. At times it seems longer, but most times it's hard to believe it has been that long.

Congratulations and I hope you two have many more. Yes sometimes it doesn't seem that long until you look at Alex and see how old he is, then you realize it has been that long.

Congratulations, EB, what a sweet story. Time can fly by, can't it? Our time on earth is so short. Have a wonderful week, xoO
