Day 10 --- The Creation of Quads

Today is October 17th. Day 10 of the Amish Friendship Bread creation. I will admit I entered into this little relationship with some misgivings... but tonight I found myself talking to the bag, patting it's little side before I poured it into the bowl to finish the process.

Tonight I added 1 1/2 cups flour, 1 1/2 cups milk and 1 1/2 cups sugar. Mixed all together in a non-metal bowl... and then very lovingly poured 1 cup each into 4 ziploc bags.

Yes, my little babies have arrived.

With the remaining starter I added 3 eggs, 2 cups flour, 1/2 cup milk, 1 cup oil, 1/2 t. salt, 1/2 t. baking soda, 1 1/2 t. baking powder, 2 t. cinnamon and 1/2 t. vanilla. You also mix 1/2 cup sugar with 1/2 t. cinnamon.. to make cinnamon sugar and you sprinkle half the mixture into the bottom of 2 greased loaf pans.... pour in the batter and then sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar on top. Bake for 1 hour at 325 degrees.

Well... I only have one loaf to display. The other loaf disappeared quickly.

This bread almost remains me of a mini cinnamon muffin I make from a Martha Stewart recipe using buttermilk. It's rich and smooth and sweet. It's actually quite good... and my hubby, who actually thought I was wasting my time for the last 10 days stated, "we are keeping 2 starters, right?"

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I can smell that loaf all the way over the ocean! *yummy*
I once participated in such an enterprise. I think it was one of the kids who brought a quad home from preschool. I wonder if they still live on .... goulish thought. *grin*
Do you have that MStuart buttermilk muffin recipe handy? You made it sound so delicious. Pleease?

The finished product looks good, but oh my, getting rid of some starters would be the problem.

See you Sat.
Love you,
Mom
